Scouting For Food
The local Scouting For Food 2007 campaign will kickoff with distribution of bags to local households on Saturday, March 3, 2007. Pick up of filled bags will occur the following Saturday, March 10, 2007. "Without the efforts of Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers, over 50 local food pantries would be empty from March through June." noted Robin McCormick, manager of the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
According to Paul Snow, BSA Scouting For Food Campaign Manager for NEIC, "Scouts who actually ring the doorbell and ask resident to participate have seen an increase in food donations versus just hanging the bag on the doorknob."
Troop 72 looks forward to continuing its effort to aid in this worthy annual event.
